Pregnant smoking mothers-to-be!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRR! Ruth, you'll probably read this. I hope you share the same disgust. haha
To me it's like an unwanted gift... like here ya go, baby I've yet to meet have asthma and I hope that you don't develop properly! I saw a preggo smoker and I have to literrrrrally use invisible duct tape and put it over my mouth so I don't say something as bold as, "Hey lady, how can you be so rude and selfish? Every time you light up, you're making the decision to affect your baby and compromise it's very formation. And that right there, shows the little care for the precious miracle inside of you." And... going a step further... "You don't deserve to be the shell carrying that sweet thang! :D
Pretty good for my first RANT! Hahaha! :)
Now that I've got that outta my way... I can sleep peacefully. LOL
Here is a cute cartoon shedding light on my RANT & below are the facts of babies born to smoking mothers.
Lower birth weight. Smoking reduces the amount of blood that reaches your placenta starving your baby of the food it needs to grow.
Smoking makes it harder to get pregnant in the first place by lowering your fertility.
Once pregnant, smoking makes miscarriages more likely.
After birth, babies born to smoking mothers cry more as they crave the nicotine you do in cigarette smoke.
Babies born to smoking mothers are more likely to die unexplained (SIDS), and to suffer from asthma and ear infections when older.
Children of smoking parents are more likely to smoke too.

I fully share in your rant. I quit smoking when my husband & I started trying to have a baby...It took 4 LONG years for that happen. It disturbs me to see pregnant women smoking and I too need a piece of the invisible duct tape.
